Betty Brown

NAMA CERTIFIED CLINICAL AYURVEDIC SPECIALIST, HEALTH  COACH, RN

Hello and welcome to B Well Ayurveda Health Coach with Betty Brown!

I am a NAMA Certified Clinical Ayurvedic Specialist and Wellness Educator.  Since 2015  I  immersed myself in studying and practicing Ayurveda at the California College of Ayurveda.  In the spring of 2020 I completed my masters level internship.

My background is health and wellness.  I am a Registered Nurse (RN), with a BSN from the University of Minnesota School of Nursing in 1992. As an RN, I worked primarily in Critical Care, Bone Marrow and Cardiac Transplant. The last 20+ years, I transitioned from working in a hospital setting to focus on my passion for health and wellness, engaging in community initiatives around preventative health.  I have an understanding of allopathic (wester medicine) and recognize the lack of a  comprehensive holistic and preventative health system that is simple and easy for everyone to follow.

As I looked to further my studies in holistic and preventative health systems, I discovered Ayurveda.  The holistic teachings of Ayurveda connected with my core beliefs of health, with the emphasis on nutrition, proper digestion, and living in balance with one’s mind, body and spirit. I consider this is to be true holistic and preventative health care.

Since I started studying Ayurveda in 2015, I have seen a profound change in my own personal physical, emotional and spiritual health as I have incorporated Ayurvedic self-care practices in my daily life. I experience improved physical wellness and improved digestion for maintaining my optimal weight. Ayurveda has taught me how to manage the stresses of life with greater ease and a sense of peace. Most importantly, Ayurveda offers me simple and effective empowering tools I can use in my everyday life allowing me to feel my best.

I incorporate my passion for cooking through the lenses of Ayurveda, where food is considered medicine. I grew up in South Korea where I have fond memories of foraging with my mother in the mountains for herbs and greens used to promote general health. Food not only satiates hunger, but supports the body’s natural abilities to detoxify, build new healthy tissues and fight off infection and diseases. I am also trained in other holistic supportive therapies such as meditation and hypnotherapy I incorporate in my Ayurvedic therapies.

My first wellness teacher and mother, Chun Cha, who sparked the love of cooking and living in balance.
