Instructions

  1. Pre-heat oven to 375 F.
  2. Wash, core and slice the apples into 1/8 inch slices.
  3. In a medium bowl, add the ghee, 1 teaspoon sweet spice blend, and 1/4 of the apple slices. Mix thoroughly.
  4. Add more apple slices, sprinkle with 1/2 teaspoon sweet spice blend and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, and mix. Repeat until all the apples and spices are mixed. Then add the vanilla and mix.
  5. Place the apple mixture in a 9x9 baking dish.
  6. Combine all the topping ingredients and mix thoroughly. Spread the topping over the apples.
  7. Cover with foil or another baking dish and bake for 40 minutes, then uncover and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the topping is golden brown.
  8. Let it sit for 5 minutes. Serve warm, with whipped coconut cream or whipped cream for an extra treat.

Note

  • Sweet spice blend: mix all the spices and keep in an airtight container in a dark, dry cabinet to extend shelf life.
